After collection from your hotel in Glasgow we will travel north along the banks of Loch Lomond and through the Trossachs National Park. We will visit Inveraray Castle before lunch in either the nearby town of Inveraray or in Oban, known as the ‘seafood capital of Scotland’.
We’ll then follow the coast road to Kilmartin Glen, where there are monuments dating back 6000 years. These include a linear cemetery, stone circles, standing stones and rock art sites. If you are feeling energetic, you can climb to the top of Dunadd, a royal hill fort, to admire the views and place your foot in the hollowed-out stone once used during the coronation ceremonies of Scotland’s ancient kings.
